Description

Why buy an expensive headset just for your office phone? Use the Headset Buddy Adapter and your existing 2.5mm headset with phones that have a handset or headset jack. A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people,or anyone who is on the phone all the time, but doesn't want to buy two headsets, one for the phone, and one for the office phone.

Specs: This adaptor converts the standard headset 2.5mm plug to a standard RJ9/RJ10/RJ22 4P4C handset plug, allowing you to use your favorite phone headset with your office phone. The adapter outputs binaural sound for mono headsets, meaning you will hear the same sound out of both ears.

Does not work with RJ11 jack, which is wider than your handset or headset jack (6 positions vs. 4). RJ11 jack is what is in the wall. RJ9/RJ10/RJ22 are what is on your phone handset or headset.

Example Compatible Phones:

This list is not all inclusive. Please look up the specifications on your specific phone to see if it has a RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 handset jack.

1Don't waste your money, does not work and no one picks up phone when you call them  Nov 16, 2010 By mike112
This product does not work. I thought I would try it, since it seemed like a great idea. Either the other person cannot hear me, or they hear their own voice very loudly as an echo right after they speak. I tried it on several phones.

When you call the 877# to contact them for a return guess what? No one is every available to take your call - surprise! You have to email them to even get a response. Will let you know how the return procedure goes (if they bother to respond to my email request for a return).

1Doesn't Work Properly  Dec 14, 2010 By Michael Ashby
I was really excited to receive this product, but was instantly sorry I ordered it due to the fact that it is unusable. Even with out a headphone plugged in, there is a slap back echo for the person on the other line. I tried it on different phones and used different headsets and there was no change.

By the time you factor in shipping, this adapter costs $20. I was expecting a higher quality product and was greatly disappointed.

1Headset Buddy needed mods  May 10, 2011 By labtom
I got 2 of these that a colleague also ordered. His worked, my two didn't, and we use the same office phones. Headset Buddy had no answers and just gave me my money back. That didn't help, since I then had a useless headset and amp. So I had to actually rewire this thing to get it to work. I think the vendor switched what they supply for this part number between the time my colleague and I bought it. Stay away.

5Cheap Alternative to ordering new headsets  Nov 29, 2010 By usapit
Ordered 2 of these to test our old 2.5mm headsets with our new phone system that requires RJ9 headset connections. no problems whatsoever....so much cheaper to order these adapters than ordering the amplifiers and headsets from plantronics just for this new phone system.

was skeptical until they got here...now ordering at least 30 more.

2Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?  Mar 22, 2012 By oneslymongoose
I was very excited to get this, hoping to make my office life a little easier. I plugged in and was excited to make my first call... the phone rang (I could hear perfectly!)... but then the person on the other end could not hear me. *sigh* In short, after much investigation, to be sure I had done everything correctly, I gave this item to a co-worker... who determined that the microphone wires inside the plug were reversed. Instead of returning the product, he performed minor elective home surgery on it and fixed it. It works now, but certainly did NOT out of the box. Anyone without a similarly competent co-worker who is comfortable messing with electronics should avoid this product. What a bummer.
